THURSDAY JULY 1/10 CANADA DAY

The alarm went off at 4.30 AM and after a few headshakes and cups of coffee I made my way out to Abbotsford, a 30 minute drive from me, I had planned the Chain Off at Mill Lake, a popular park where tons of dog lovers, joggers, walkers visit..So I thought THIS was the perfect spot..After setting up the DDB display I put the collar and lead on and sat and waited, and waited, and waited...Finally a person walked up to me and had a smile on her face.."Great": I thought..well that thought left fast, as this is what she said Goodmorning, and what are you doing here today?" I explained what I was doing etc, What DDB was about..and then the lady said" Well, as an English Professor, I must tell you that there is an apostrophy in the wording, which should not be there"

I just sat there..as the english professor walked off..

Then someone came to bum a smoke, and then another one who wanted a smoke..( no the second one did not get one.as I am not a chairity for smokers.)

In the meantime it has started to rain...and it was cold and miserable, which made me realise that the dogs who are chained face this all the time and all I could think off, is that I was feeling sorry for my self while others were out celebrating Canada Day, parties to attend, parades to see..Same as the chained dogs, who see other dogs get to play, get treats, go for carrides and get to go in house..

After a few hours of not seeing a soul, a coworker came by..which was great and after she left I napped..only to wake up as another friend came with her 2 mals.

So I know many people saw the display and posters and a chained up person, and hopefully they will think about the lives of the chained dogs..and will try to make a difference..
