Freedom for Chained Dogs
GUAM (AN ISLAND IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN)

Guam Animals In Need on the island of Guam held their 1st CHAIN Off over the 4th of July weekend. We selected a high traffic mall location and passed out the DDB door hangers and flyers. Spoke with over 200 people and received $375.75 in donations. Our on-line donations currently show $250 - but the most important part of the day was when a local resident brought an emaciated Pit bull mix and asked for us to help her. The dog had an embedded collar that required surgery to be removed.
We immediately gave the dog food and water and contacted a local veterinarian to begin treatment. Cinnamon is now undergoing veterinary care. She was diagnosed with heartworm. GAIN stated a Second Chance Boonie Rescue program in 2009 and Cinnamon will be placed in foster care until she can find her forever home.
We are already making plans for the 2011 CHAIN Off and hope to raise more funds and have more participants.
Thanks for all you do!
