The Good News is that we have to date raised $142,022 for the Center! Wow!!!!

Thank YOU! Our supporters have always amazed us. We love you.

We'd like to raise at least another $30,000 ASAP we can get a property loan and then invite you all to come see it and be part of the solution.

Can you help us raise the $30,000? With you behind us, we raised $2500 last week, and we can do even better this week.

We're so excited that actress Candice Bergen is supporting us! See Recent Article Links:

You may have heard already, but actress Candice Bergen, who has been a supporter of DDB's work for chained dogs for the past couple years, has decided to support our efforts to create the Good Newz Rehab Center!

She wanted no fanfare, no press releases, but she did allow us to share the news with our supporters, and we're super-excited to do just that! We're hoping once we get on the ground, maybe Ms. Bergen will come visit us soon.

Sharing it on our page did net a couple of articles about it, but we hope she doesn't mind: positive press is never a bad thing.

WE all Eat, right? Now Eat to Raise Funds for the DDB Good Newz Center! At a HUGE DISCOUNT!

Get your Dining Certificate for Local Restaurants, $20 for $50 worth of food, and $35 for $100 worth of food!

I spent my own $20 as a test, and it worked great! DDB got $8 of it, and I got two $25 gift certificates to two local restaurants. Usually the check has to total $35, so we got TWO DINING experiences, valued at $70, for $40. Seems the e-mails with the code go to many people's spam accounts, so look for the code after you pay. Copy that code and paste it into Restaurant.com and choose your certificates.

We've raised over $933 for the center this way!

Now this is one delicious deal! For just $20 you receive a $50 Restaurant eCertificate code, immediately redeemable online to over 15,000 restaurants across the U.S.! Whether for yourself or as a gift for friends and family, you can't beat the savings. Dinner is waiting... order now!

Victory for Dogs in Seminole County, Florida

Seminole county commissioners voted Unanimously for the anti-tethering ordinance! The dogs received extensive media coverage, educating the public and making it clear that chaining your dog will not be tolerated.
Orlando Sentinel, CBS, Ch 13, Fox News, and ABC covered the commissioners meeting. A big thanks to Carla and Bryan Wilson, who hung in there tenaciously for two years working on this law. Here are some coverage links:

More Rep, Chained Dog, and Legislation News Nationwide

Adopt Miss Pollywog or see other DDB adoptables

Featured Adoptable:

Our featured adoptable is Polly, aka Miss Pollywog, aka Polly Pocket, the last of the Missouri hoarding case dogs, where DDB Rep Kathy Ward and other reps all pulled together to get over 20 dogs out of a horrible situation.

She has ended up being fostered near Altoona, PA, after traveling with a trucker from Missouri to her new home in Delaware. The couple kept her for a mere five hours before deciding she was too shy and they wanted to give her back!

Five hours. Wow.

While she is on the shy side, and she can be terrified of those who scare her, with most people she is a total lovebug, and is already sleeping in bed with DDB Office Manager Elaine Peachey and her two foster siblings.

To adopt Polly or any of the other DDB adoptable dogs, visit the site at http://www.dogsdeservebetter.org/adopt.html.

Latest Rescue by the DDB Team in New Mexico; Two chained dogs, one shot

Yet ANOTHER horrible case of extreme animal cruelty coming from Las Vegas, NM. As many of you know, I have dubbed this area GROUND ZERO for chained, neglected & abused dogs & I think you will agree. If you are a NM DDB supporter, I am sure you have noted that majority of our critical cases are coming out of Las Vegas. While we are working on the legislative end of this situation, those changes come so very slowly. — DDB Rep Angela Stell

Dogs DO Deserve SO MUCH BETTER, Don't They?

Thanks for bringing chained dogs into the home and family with us for the past nine years. We couldn't do it without your support.

P.S. I still have all my hair. Granted, that makes my fiance happy, but not me...the Center is more important. I've been joined by Deana Whitfield, Terry Clark, Liesa Collier, Kristen Hendricks-Davis, and Jenn Lewis in taking it off (our hair that is) for a good cause. Support our efforts to raise funds for the center by chipping in here: http://ddbrehabcenter.chipin.com/two-woman-shavecut-their-hair-get-ddb-logo-tattooed-for-good-newz-rehab-center
